Inside El Tarter...
The ski resort of El Tarter is linked to the Grandvalira ski area and stands at 1710m, with the majority of runs higher up at levels of 2100m in Riba Escorxada and up to 2500m in some areas like Tosa dels Espiolets. El Tarter ski area is one of the more dynamic sectors and was designed with the most extreme winter sports in mind. Here you’ll find the Snowpark El Tarter, which has the longest line of modules in the Pyrenees, and one of the longest in Europe. The Àliga slope has hosted the Alpine Skiing World Cup in 2016 & 2019.

Families will also find a wide range of activities for the younger members of the family here in this sector with a kid’s circuit and the Bababoom Circus where the littlest ones can enjoy a slope designed just for them with countless surprises. El Tarter is the neighbouring linked ski area to Soldeu and Canillo offers one of the most diverse and varied sectors in the Grandvalira. Beginners, like Soldeu start at the top of the El Tarter gondola and have a homeward run back to El Tarter to aim towards by the end of the week.

Above that, El Tarter rises up to over 2500m known as the “top of the world”. From there you can make your way back to El Tarter through the natural bowl of blue and red runs or towards the Canillo sector with the areas longest run (Rossignol). You can criss cross easily to Soldeu and back before exploring further afield into the Grau Roig – Pas de la Casa sector.

The El Tarter Snow Park is a major feature of the area and home to some world class events and riders. El Tarter sector has a BABABOOM child circus run and advernture activities such as Husky dog rides and snow quads. Snowpark El Tarter is one of the pioneer snowparks in the Iberian Peninsula. Over the years, it has expanded and improved to offer long routes with modules and areas for all ski and snowboard levels, and again has been expanded for 2020 season.

The l'Abarset restaurant and its terrace have been without a doubt one of the leading spots for après-ski in Andorra over the last few years. Located at the base of the El Tarter sector, no pass is required to enter the establishment and there is plenty of parking nearby. From 4 p.m, L'Abarset offers a constant schedule of parties throughout the winter season and appearances by big name DJs and artists of international renown have made it the meeting point par excellence of the resort for all the après-ski lovers in Grandvalira.
